Suwari Waza Kata-Dori Ura

In this technique Uke attacks Nage attempting to take control of Nage’s shoulder. This is a strong anchoring grip with the intent to control / limit Nage’s center.

Nage counters Uke’s atack with an ura movement, turning off the line of attack, pivoting around uke’s point of contact (force), and from behind applying the counter technique.

Kata dori from a psychological standpoint is a emotional trigger, Emotions such as fear, anger, and humiliation act on Nage to impose external expectations and control on Nage’s attention and autonomy
